SERVICE DOG TRAINING
Our comprehensive owner-trainer program.
Looking to Train your Dog to be a Service Dog?
Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
We require a letter from a Medical Professional confirming your disability before we start training. We also will consult with you and your care team throughout the training process to ensure your service dog and their tasks are the best choice for you.

What's Included.

Dog Assessment
Breeders Recommendations and help with puppy temperament testing. If you have a prospect already, we will test them during our initial consult.
Please know that not every dog can become a service dog. It takes a very certain temperament to have a dog that will happily and successfully assist you.

Testing
We will test you and your dog for your Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine and Canine Good Citizen Urban. We will also administer our Public Access Test based on Canadian PATs, the ADI PAT test, and best practices.

Private Sessions
We will meet twice a month 1-on-1 to work on confidence, house manners, neutrality, loose leash walking, public access, task training, test prep, & more.
If at any point you need an extra session or two, we'll talk!

Task Training
Together and with your care team, we will choose at least three tasks for your dog. We'll first work on these at home and then in public!

Group Classes
Open pass to every group class within your dog's age range & service dog only classes as they're available.
We ask that for ages 2-8 months you attend at least 3 classes/month and for 8 months+ you attend at least 2 classes/month.

Graduate Support
You’re welcome back for free group classes at no charge. We’ll be with you for the long haul.
We ask that you attend at least 1 group class a month for the first 6 months.
Note: Accommodations are available. Whether you need to video chat instead of phone call, shorter appointment times, struggle with group class settings, need financial assistance, we will adjust as necessary.

Meet the Trainer.
Hi, I'm Cate!
One of my favorite parts of my job is working with service dogs in training. It's actually how I got started in dog training. Back in 2017, I became a puppy raiser for a non-profit assistance dog organization and quickly discovered two things: I loved raising puppies, and I loved supporting others who were raising them too.
Since then, I have raised seven puppies for non-profit organizations, worked with an ADI-accredited program, gained hands-on experience with pet dogs and behavior challenges, and earned my certification as a Service Dog Coach. Each of those experiences shaped how I train today with a focus on building confidence, nurturing compassion, and creating joy on both ends of the leash.
I designed this program to guide owner-trainers through the process with support, encouragement, and clarity, so you can enjoy the journey as much as the outcome. Together, we will help your dog grow into a calm, capable partner while you gain the confidence and skills to thrive as a team.
I can't wait to help you along this journey!

How it Works.
Note: Accommodations are available. Whether you need to video chat instead of phone call, shorter appointment times, struggle with group class settings, need financial assistance, we will adjust as necessary.
